Shortly after 2:22 pm Wilmington Firefighters on the B platoon were alerted to a residential structure fire at 720 E.11th Street. Fire department units arrived on scene to find fire showing from the second floor of a two-story end of the row dwelling. Crews made an aggressive fire attack and were able to contain the fire to the area of origin. Simultaneously, additional crews searched all levels of the dwelling for occupants with negative results. The incident commander, Battalion Chief John Hoban placed the scene under control with crews working at 2:50 PM. The dwelling sustained moderate fire damage and significant smoke damage. The adjoining dwelling 722 E.11th Street sustained smoke damage.
