Second floor bedroom fire

At 2:35pm Wilmington Fire Department units were dispatched to a structure fire at 1004 Clifford Brown Walk.  On arrival District 2 Battalion Chief established command and reported a two-story, middle of the row, single-family residential with smoke showing from the second floor.  Engine 2 arrived and deployed a hand line to the second floor, finding a fire in the back bedroom with minor extension to the hallway and hallway bathroom.  The fire was held to the second floor of the residence with no injuries to civilians or fire department personnel.  Command placed the situation under control and turned the scene over to the fire marshal’s office for investigation.  Two adults and four children were displaced from the home and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.   

Approximately 31 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire. The following units responded: Engine 2, Engine 1, Engine 3, Squad 4, Ladder 1, Ladder 2, Battalion-1, Battalion-2, FM-13, St. Francis EMS, New Castle County Paramedics, Wilmington License & Inspection, Wilmington Police, Delmarva Power, and American Red Cross.
